Description
The Mascot is a brand for a single Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon red wine. It is composed of fruit from younger vines (7-12 years old) in replanted blocks within the hillside vineyards of BOND, Harlan Estate, and Promontory.
The project was originally a small-scale project whose output was shared mainly by the Harlan family, their winemaking team, and close friends. The first release was the 2008 vintage. In time, around 500 cases were being produced and the decision was made to make a regular commercial release.
The wine is released when deemed delicious to drink, while retaining vibrant fruit. It is intended to give an insight to how the wines of the above estates evolve and improve with bottle age.
