Tasting Notes
On the nose there are notes of ripe black fruits such as plum, and also some liquorice, both of which balance well the aromas drawn from its long, careful ageing in French oak barrels, delivering toasty notes, some tobacco, cedar wood and some light, spicy touches. A very long finish – a wine to be sipped and savoured.
Ageing Potential
This is a vintage that is more approachable in youth because of the ripeness and richness levels attained in 2016 but will provide great complexity with further maturation.
Can age for 10 – 20 years, provided wine is stored in ideal cellar conditions
