Philip Shaw No. 5 is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with 8% Merlot . This high quality wine highlights the impressive relationship between these varieties and the Orange region. Our Cab Sauv displays intense bright reds with a small purple hue. The aroma shows bright varietal black berry fruit characters with subtle cigar box oak. The intensity of the Cabernet Sauvignon’s fruit dominates at this stage and provides ongoing flavours. Providing the wine is well cellared, it will further develop, intensify and gain complexity over an extremely long period – up to 50 years.
