Description
You can see the relative cool climate of the Clare Valley when compared to Barossa on this Shiraz, but it lacks much of the elegance and spice the region can deliver. A nose of ripe, almost confected, raspberries and cherries, green flower stalks, oatmeal, chocolate and Dr Pepper leads to a palate that is big boned but with pointy elbows. Tangy fruit is gripped by astringent tannins and feels at odds with the angular acidity.
