Description
Since winemaker Nicolas Labenne joined Lynch-Bages from Calon-Ségur the wines here have been better than ever; no longer the `poor man’s Mouton’ but increasingly almost as good! Impressive, aethereal aromatics and some serious minerally cassis set the tone for this rich, silky-textured Pauillac with oodles of sweet black cherry and blackberry essence and coffee hints. With George Clooney-like charm, a ripe but substantial tannic structure, and an intense, mouthwatering long finish this respects the vintage but definitely outperforms it.
